Four babies were born to Delilah the rabbit.  They were born April 6th due to an accidental mating.  The new bunnies are just as adorable as they come.  Just little bundles of fuzzy fluff.   Delilah is as happy and proud Mother!

Babydoll Ram (un-named for now!) - So Adorable! Welcome To Loma Vista Farm! November 6, 2007

Diana Frieling, owner of Windswept Ranch, delivered three animals today about 3:30 p.m. today. Lily, Curly, and the Babydoll ram. The Babydoll ram is 7 months old and doesn't have a name today. The children get to name him. Here's what Beverly Calvert the Farm's caretakers said about the ram, "I did get some photos which I will disseminate right away. Every time I went to take a photo of little "no name" he turned his beautiful face away. His little face looks almost like that of a teddy bear...he's adorable!!!". Well said Beverly. The Farm Staff at Loma Vista Farm is eager to see what name the children come up with for this adorable ram!

Curly - Welcome To Loma Vista Farm! November 6, 2007

Curly, is a 8 year old Alpaca . Curly arrived at Loma Vista Farm today along with Lily, an Alpine cross goat, and the Babydoll Ram. Curly is quite the draw already. This afternoon several people stopped and parked on Rainier just to observe the new arrivals. One person stopped to ask if donations were tax deductible and where they could send their donation checks! Of course I gave all the info they needed . Yes donations are need to cover the costs of the animals food and care. Friends Of Loma Vista Farm is California non-profit, yes donations are tax deductible. We're happy to see Curly spurring such questions and talk. Don't you want to just run up and hug Curly!

Keebler & Oreo! Welcome Home To Loma Vista Farm! - October 14, 2007 - 5:00 p.m.

It was a joyful day at Loma Vista Farm today. Keebler & Oreo, two New Dutch Belted Heifers, arrived at around 5:00 p.m. The Farm's caretaker, Beverly Calvert was just delighted to meet the farm's newest residents!

Keebler and Oreo are both Dutch Belted heifers. They are approximately 5 years of age and were rescued. Diana Frieling, their former owner, at Windswept Ranch, delivered the heifers and was delighted to finally see Loma Vista Farm in person. Simply said, we feel Diana just fell in love with Loma Vista Farm. Oreo has a white belt almost completely around her and Keebler has the horns and just a little white. Both are heifers (girls). They're getting used to their new home and all the sounds and smells so common at Loma Vista Farm. Not to mention the chickens, the cats and the people! These are rescue animals, which make them all the more special.

Classes have already met the new arrivals at the farm. Joyce Chalmers and Merry Sierecki, both teachers at Loma Vista Elementary, visited with their classes at the Farm today and the excitement over Oreo & Keebler is absolutely wonderful. Merry Sierecki, mentioned as an FYI of course "My class loved the cows. I heard them called the cookie cows".

Happy Birthday Dee-Dee!

Loma Vista Farm welcomes Dee-Dee into the world. On August 6th at about 6:50 p.m. Ricki gave birth to a bouncing baby girl. The new arrival was named Dee-Dee. Mom, Ricki, watches as Dee-Dee discovered her new feet and just bounces around! To watch a new born pygmy goat hop around is entertaining to say the least. Ricki is on continual watch out over her new baby. Ricki is watching Dee-Dee while she jumps and plays on a old tree stump in their yard. She loves to play and jump on it.

Dee-Dee is a large baby girl at almost 10-12 inches tall. Dee-Dee just refused to stand still for measurement and weight recordings! She is just so full of energy.

Proud Nugget and her new baby chicks.

Nugget's eggs hatch! The little black hen with the gold top notch, her name is "Nugget" proudly walks the farm with her new family. Nugget hatched ten, count them - 10, baby chicks on July 23, 2007. Nugget and the two Peahens are sticking together as new mothers of multiple babies!

Green Mommie and Grandmother with new baby peacocks.

Green Mommie's eggs hatch. Remember they're both "Green Mommies" one is the Mom and one is the Grandmother. Green Mommie, the PeaHen hatched seven babies chicks on July 9, 2007. When the PeaHen roosts at night she flies up on the pergola over the sidewalk going into the garden. Then each one of her baby chicks fly (yes they fly) up to her and then climb on her back and gently get under her wings and get comfy and cozy so they can go to sleep for the night. Both the Green Mommy and Green Mommy grandma sleep together with the babies.

Lucy, Clyde, and Bonnie - Welcome to Loma Vista Farm!

Loma Vista Farm is excited to announce the arrival of Lucy, Bonnie, and Clyde. Lucy, Bonnie, and Clyde are Pot belly pigs which were adopted from Another Chance Animal Welfare League, Inc. in Millville, California. All 3 pigs arrived at Loma Vista Farm and were adopted on May 10, 2007. Loma Vista Farm offers a huge Thank You to Denise Salazar-Bodin for making the full day drive to Millville, California, to pick up and transfer the pigs to Vallejo. Denise arrived at around 1:00 a.m. on Friday, May 11 with the new farm friends. She quickly helped them into their new home and worked with the new frightened pigs to help them feel comfortable at their new home.

Animal Welfare found 17 pigs in a trailer and rescued them. When the pigs were found they where in horrific condition ranging from malnutrition to mange. Bonnie, Lucy, and Clyde were each in separate foster homes between February and May 2007. Loma Vista Farm's adoption reunites the pigs into a family. Today, Bonnie, Lucy, and Clyde are happy healthy pigs living life to it's fullest at Loma Vista Farm.

Bonnie, Clyde, Lucy, and Loma Vista Farm offer a huge farm Thank You to Emilio Rivera and the Iron Workers Union of Vallejo for building the new pig house at the farm, and for their generous support to the Farm.

Loma Vista Farm, Bonnie, Clyde, and loveable Lucy offer a huge Thank You to Vallejo Fire Department Assistant Fire Chief, Greg Falkenthal, who came out to smooth the sharp edges on the new pig house making it safe for pigs and kid friendly. Thank You!

Lucy

Lucy is the largest of the 3 pigs and is roughly 3 years old. Lucy is adjusting to her new house and settling in at her new home, Loma Vista Farm. Shy at first for a couple of days, Lucy is quickly becoming a favorite at the Farm for the children and classes to see. Merry Sierecki, a teacher at Loma Vista Elementary school in Vallejo, recently visited the Farm with her class of students. Merry's exact words were "I can now tell the difference in all 3 pigs - I love Lucy!". Lucy is quickly becoming a show-off with her pig personality! Lucy loves the attention from the visiting children. She's very smart and loves to demonstrate that she can sit on command.

Bonnie & Clyde

Bonnie and Clyde, one boy and one girl, are smaller and a bit younger at 18 months. Bonnie and Clyde are also adjusting to their new house and the Loma Vista Farm routine. They too love the attention from the visiting children. Both are very smart and can sit on command like Lucy. We're delighted to announce that Bonnie squeaks when she's happy. A surprise to farm staff which Bonnie started only weeks after settling into her new home. A true sign that she loves her new home! Another surprise has come from Clyde. He jumps up! and sits on his back legs for treats. Clyde's favorite treats are Blue Dog Bakery peanut butter & molasses Natural Low Fat Dog Treats. Bonnie and Clyde have been greeted by a couple hundred children since their arrival in a few short weeks. Lucy steals the show now, but Bonnie and Clyde are quickly gaining with their adorable personalities. Bonnie and Clyde are behaving like typical younger pigs, starting to dig holes in the ground, and lying in the dirt, while catching some great sun. Yes, Bonnie and Clyde spend a lot of time basking in the sun with smiles on their faces in their new home.

The new pigs are on a special diet to ensure their health is the best. The public is reminded and asked to not feed the new pigs.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROCKY!

Loma Vista Farm is proud to announce the arrival of a new baby pygmy goat on the Farm. Rocky, an energetic bouncy pygmy baby goat was born on May 4, 2007, around 10:00 a.m.. Rocky is about 7-8 inches tall and a huge bundle of joy! Rocky's proud parents, Sarah & Eli, have amazed children and visitors at Loma Vista Farm with their character and charm for a long time. Sarah is about 8 years old and was born and raised at Loma Vista Farm. Eli is roughly 2 years old, and was donated to the Farm by the Suzi Hirshfield family when he was 6 months old. The staff at the Farm is elated with joy by the newest member to the Loma Vista Farm animal family.

The public is welcome to come out and take a peek at Rocky. For the first 3 weeks new baby goats must stay close to their Mother so human contact is limited to Farm staff only. Classes visiting the farm since Rocky's birth are elated with his presence and playful character.
